Mazafati Bam Dates

Mazafati Bam Dates

Mazafati Bam Date, one of the popular types of dates, has a history dating back thousands of years and is recognized for its unique taste and nutritional benefits. This type of date grows in the region of southern Iran, mainly in Bam, Jiroft, Kahnuj (in Kerman province), Saravan, Nikshahr, Haji Abad, and Iranshahr (in Sistan-o-Baluchestan province).
Mazafati dates, scientifically known as Phoenix dactylifera, are a type of date palm fruit renowned for their exceptional quality and taste. These dates are often referred to as the “King of Dates” due to their large size, soft texture, and rich, caramel-like flavor.

Nutritional Benefits:
This date variety is known for being a rich source of natural energy, containing significant amounts of natural sugars such as glucose, fructose, and sucrose. It’s also rich in essential vitamins, including Vitamins A, C, E, and the B group, which play vital roles in skin health, immune system support, and metabolic processes. Additionally, they contain magnesium, calcium, and iron.

Physical Characteristics:
The Mazafati Date is medium to large in size, typically measuring around 1.4 to 1.7 inches in height and 0.98 to 1.38 inches in diameter. Its skin is of a resistant type called “Mazafati Gold Skin,” with a dark, often deep brown to black color. This dark coloration is a result of having the lowest moisture content among dates.

Taste and Aroma:
Mazafati Bam Dates are renowned for their sweet and pleasant taste. Compared to other types of dates, they have a milder and more balanced sweetness. Besides their sweetness, they possess a premium aroma that imparts a unique flavor to culinary dishes and desserts.
